Born in 1906, Gondo Aluor worked as a teacher from 1924 and became chief scribe in 1940. He was appointed deputy Tor Tiv in 1948 before succeeding Makir Zakpe.
His reign continued the ya na angbian principle of rotation between the main royal lines and strengthened continuity in the young institution.
